About
Hi! I’m Donnie Ashok, a DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer with over a decade of experience shaping scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions for modern applications. My journey began in 2011 when I founded Legalify, where I focused on building regulatory-compliant web solutions for the Indian legal industry. This marked the start of my deep dive into infrastructure and cloud technologies.
Fast forward to 2017, I joined LawSikho as a Technology Manager, where I led the development of their first backend system and hired and managed a team of four engineers. During this time, I also took the iPleaders Blog from cPanel to a highly available setup, that continues to receive over two million visits every month.
Late 2018, I moved to Germany to work at Medigo GmbH. Here, I implemented frontend designs, managed backend services, and oversaw CI/CD lifecycles using Jenkins and AWS ECS.
From 2021 to 2025, I worked at Moonfare GmbH first in feature development and then in DevOps. As a DevOps engineer, I worked on projects which reduced the AWS bill by 60% YoY through automation and cost optimization efforts. I was also responsible for recreating our cloud resources for ISO 27001 compliance, and implemented dynamic scaling using Karpenter. These achievements were pivotal in shaping my expertise in cloud platforms and Kubernetes orchestration.
In February 2025, I joined Aleph Alpha GmbH as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, where I am currently focused on building cutting-edge AI solutions while continuing to drive innovation in infrastructure.
Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about mentoring teams and fostering sustainable DevOps practices. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new and old science-fiction content and finding ways to increase our digital sovereignty.
While working neck deep in technology I also graduated in Law from the esteemed and highly-ranked Gujarat National Law University, where my favourite subject was Information Technology Law.
